Episode 2: How Vivan & Sara Earned Their First ₹50

Vivan and Sara set up a summer lemonade stand to learn how effort turns into earning, and discover the secret difference between Needs and Wants!

Episode 2: How Vivan & Sara Earned Their First ₹50 🍋🥤

Summer holidays had just started, and Vivan was itching to play cricket in the colony park! But oh no — his favorite leather cricket ball was worn out, and a new one cost ₹50. Vivan checked his Save Gullak, but it was empty!

He ran to Grandma and asked with wide eyes:

“दादी! पॉकेट मनी तो खत्म हो गई, अब नया क्रिकेट बॉल कैसे आएगा?”

Grandma smiled wisely, patted Vivan’s head, and shared an important life lesson:

“पैसे पेड़ पर नहीं उगते! जब हम मेहनत करते हैं और दूसरों की मदद करते हैं, तब हम पैसे कमाते हैं। मेहनत का फल मीठा होता है, और अपनी कमाई का मज़ा ही अलग है!” 🌳💪

The Great Summer Nimbu Pani Stall! 🍋🧊

Vivan and Sara decided to become entrepreneurs for an afternoon! With Mom’s permission, they set up a fresh Nimbu Pani (Lemonade) stall under the shady mango tree in their front garden.

  • Supplies: Lemons, sugar, mint leaves, and ice cubes (Cost: ₹15).
  • Hard Work: Sara squeezed fresh lemons, Vivan stirred the cold water, and both greeted neighbors with bright smiles!
  • Total Earning: They sold 13 cups at ₹5 each = ₹65!
  • Net Profit: ₹65 earning minus ₹15 supplies = ₹50 Pure Profit! 💵✨

Vivan and Sara danced with joy — they had earned their very first ₹50 through teamwork and honest effort!

The Big Question: Needs vs. Wants! 🤔💭

With ₹50 in hand, Sara immediately pointed to a passing ice cream cart and shiny glitter stickers:

“विवान! सारे ५० रुपये की टॉफियां और चमकीले स्टिकर्स खरीद लेते हैं!”

Vivan hesitated. He remembered Dad’s advice about classifying expenses before spending earned money:

“क्या यह चीज़ सच में ज़रूरत (Need) है या सिर्फ मन की चाहत (Want)? पहले ज़रूरतों का ध्यान रखो, फिर बचत करो, और बची हुई राशि से ख़वाहिशें पूरी करो!” 💡

  • Needs (ज़रूरत): Things essential for life, health, and learning (like school notebooks, nutritious fruits, and water).
  • Wants (चाहत): Fun things we desire, but can easily live without (like extra video games or fancy toy robots).
